The Pattern People

The Pattern People are art dolls that I created from wire, clay, felt, paper, and recycled plastic. Around them I have built a fantasy world full of backgrounds and props. The idea is that I can use these dolls as movable paintings. They can be reconfigured and photographed to create endless pieces of art and tell endless stories. 

 The dolls are able to function as materials for creating illustrations, or as fine art to be exhibited on it's own. They were developed for my master's thesis, the final project of which was a picture book titled Penelope Peploe's Passage.
